However, in the pharmaceutical industry, SAS survives as the primary language for analyzing clinical trial data especially for the analysis of regulatory documents, such as briefing document (BD) or common technical document (CTD) because it is ensured by SAS company although R has nothing.
One disadvantage of SAS was the cost which is very expensive... But, a couple of years ago (I don't know when...), SAS university edition was released, and you can use SAS as a free software for your academic purpose or the thing other than business. I installed it into my personal laptop for my self-learning and for my research.
